Twenty five years ago, attention to human development was engraved in the notion that:

“Development is about enlarging people’s choices—focusing broadly on the richness of human lives rather than narrowly on the richness of economies. …. Today people are living longer, more children are in school and more people have access to clean water and basic sanitation.” (World Bank Report 2015)

Importantly, sizable challenges such as extensive poverty, human inequalities, environmental degradation, instability and conflicts still persist in greater parts of the world.
